Speakers: SALAGAR S210 Symphony in Metal Fire
Metallic with Salagar OEM $7,999 (pair)
Additional comment:
Inspired by the long tradition of musical instrument design, SALAGAR has created a premium lifestyle speaker that leverages self-amplified/self-powered technology to produce “Drop Dead Sound.” The unique, minimalist design of Symphony S210 speakers takes cues from the string family to create a cross-braced sealed, pressure vessel enclosure that produces punchy bass with virtually no enclosure resonances.
The Symphony S210 takes a single line level input from a balanced, XLR interconnect cable and feeds this into its SALAGAR “X-ACT” digital active crossover. This device digitally processes the input at a very high resolution of 24bits at 96 KHz, and applies the appropriate filters needed to divide the signal for each of the system’s two transducers. The latest class D amp modules made by ICEpower, a division of Bang & Olufsen, amplify the X-ACT output signals.

Concert Fidelity CF-080 Hybrid Line Stage Preamplifier - Silicon Arts Design ZL-120 Solid State Monoblock Poweramplifier - Concert Fidelity DAC-040 Hybrid Digital-to-Analog Converter (Shown in public for the fist time)
Also, we are very fortunate to have cooperation from following companies for their providing the equipment to complement our electronics during the show:
- Speaker System: Escalante Design (Fremont) - Interconnect and Speaker Cables: Kimber Kable (Hero, Monocle X, D60) - AC Filtering and Power Cables: Chang Lightspeed Audio (Reference)
Fundamentally, we believe our components are very revealing yet musical at the same time, and makes one want to listen to his or her entire collection of music once over again for the unexpected new discoveries.
- Concert Fidelity CF-080 Hybrid Line Stage Preamplifier This is the ultimate statement of Masataka Tsuda(I¡Ç(Bs design philosophy, and an improvement over CF-040 used by Steve Hoffman for mastering and personal listening.
Taking Zen-like minimalist approach and employing extremely short signal path with minimum number of components, made possible through application of unique signal level control circuitry. The resulting signal path is only about 10 cm (4 inches) in length.
- Silicon Arts Design ZL-120 Solid State Monoblock Amplifier Another application of minimalist approach, with emphasis on parts quality and reliability through use of high grade key components, such as transformers and chassis sourced from suppliers to Japanese government and other public works (i.e. - Japan Railway Systems, known for its (I¡È(BBullet Train(I¡É(B).
Only 2 pairs of output MOS-FET(I¡Ç(Bs are used in each monoblock to provide 120W@8ohms, with no overall NFB, resulting in an extremely pure, open and transparent presentation of music as it was captured in recording, with articulate and seamless reproduction of sound throughout the full range of frequency and dynamics.
- Concert Fidelity DAC-040 Hybrid Digital to Analog Converter Also taking the minimalist approach, and with tube buffer stage, extracts every last bit of information from CD, and raises the expectation for red book audio CD(I¡Ç(Bs to an entirely new level. After 25 years, CD reproduction still had room for such improvement, even through our traditional approach, without employing any up-sampling or over-sampling.

"The Trinity Speakers Small Speakers MASSIVE Progress!!!!
In pursuit of extended high frequency response capabilities, many contemporaries have sought to push the limits of the dynamic drive unit beyond its limits. Dynamic, coil based, tweeters simply cannot achieve extreme high frequency sound. It is beyond the limits of the technology. Only super low mass solutions can achieve controlled sound reproduction. Wilson Benesch has retained its soft dome tweeter and opted for appropriate technology to pass on the batten when it naturally rolls off. This solution provides optimum performance within the 5000 to 20,000 bandwidth. The Sphere then takes up the challenge, producing controlled accurate sound up to 100 KHz.
2007 will be seen as the year when Wilson Benesch completed its design objectives for wide bandwidth loudspeaker design. The Torus / Trinity combination delivers sound of the highest clarity from 18Hz to100kHz!
(Room 9009)
We would like to invite you to audition a new spendor loudspeaker the S3/5R at the Denver Audio Fest in Room 9009.
For over two decades Spendor was licensed to manufacture the legendary LS3/5a BBC mini-monitor loudspeaker. It became an international reference standard. In 1998 when Spendor learned that manufacture of the LS3/5a drive units was to cease, we decided to develop our own 140mm bass-midrange drive unit using modern materials and technology. Combining this with a 20mm tweeter, new crossover engineering and a more up-to-date look we created the Spendor S3/5. Many discerning listeners consider it to be the most transparent and truly musical mini-loudspeaker they have ever heard, a natural successor to the LS3/5A. The Spendor S3/5 has won many awards.
The new S3/5R blends some of Spendor's advanced engineering with original Classic 70's technology and construction to preserve the rich and natural sound character which is the hallmark of every Spendor Classic loudspeaker.
The S3/5R: -traditional thin wall with heavy damping design of the cabinet has been enhanced by the use of modern rubberised damping panels. -Spendor bass-mid driver uses improved phase correction technology in the form of a focusing magnet motor pole extension. -new 20mm soft dome tweeter closely matches the sound characteristics of the original S3/5 tweeter -crossover circuit board has been redesigned to improve conductivity and single routing to eliminate magnetic interaction between inductors. -all tracks are gold plated and solder is silver and copper loaded for optimum connections integrity. -crossover is single wired to ensure consistent and optimum sound quality. The new Spendor S3/5R retains the character and technical precision of the original award-winning S3/5, but with clearly audible improvements in sound, especially in the mid-band.
We will be pairing these S3/5R's with some wonderful Cyrus electronics, the results will be amazing.
