Legacy Aeris loudspeaker

Legacy Audio has produced what is arguably its most beautiful, decor-friendly loudspeaker yet, the Aeris. Touted as a “technological powerhouse,” the Aeris features 24-bit DSP and 1 KW of internal bass power via ICEpower® modules.

Measuring 58″ H x 14.5″ W x 16″ D, with a base that measures 1″ H x 19″ W x 15″ D, the Aeris is a 6-driver, 4.5-way system. The dual, front-firing active subwoofers measure 12″ and is said to provide a linear volume displacement of nearly 200 cubic inches! Also a dipole, the Aeris’ top-end is produced by the Legacy Dual Air Motion neodymium tweeter, a dipolar titanium encrusted 8″ midrange with “an enormous motor structure imported from Italy”, plus a 10″ open-air midbass driver. Frequency range is 16 to 30kHz, and 95dB efficient!

According to Bill Dudleston, the well-mannered, resourceful and tireless Legacy owner and chief designer on developing the Aeris, “My initiative of providing a 4″ AMT that could transition to the smoothest and most dynamic 8″ midrange driver available was met with the challenge of accordion-folding 16 square inches of Kapton into the 4″ long, 1″ wide chamber. Neodymium was employed to provide the flux density required. The results were more uniform dispersion and tremendous attack. Treble now had natural weight and shimmer without tizz. The 10″ dipolar driver completes the transition to the foundation provided by the dual 12″ subs.”

MSRP: beginning at $17,750 the pair, depending on finish.
