Respondent: Martin Grennall, Audio Note, Room 5226.
What’s the “elevator pitch” description of your company?
“Audio Note (UK) is Europe’s largest and most established manufacturer of ultra performance high fidelity equipment”.
What makes your company and products special – how do they stand out from the pack?
No other audio company invests as much time, effort and resources into designing, refining and manufacturing every element in the audio path. From the smallest capacitors, resistors and the critical output transformers to the drive units in our loudspeakers, every element is custom designed and manufactured either by us or specifically for us, to our exacting specifications. No other company can offer such complete, matched home audio systems, capable of bringing the finest possible musical experience to your home.
Which of your products do you plan to demonstrate at CAS 2018?

Which sorts of CAS attendees should be interested to see and hear the products you will be demonstrating – and why?
Anyone who is genuinely interested and passionate about music should pay us a visit. While CAS is obviously primarily a show dedicated to the art of audio reproduction, our raison d’être has always been music and its faithful reproduction, regardless of whether it is old or new, well or badly recorded, and we are always delighted to meet, talk with and listen with visitors who live and breath music, in all its forms and varieties.
What do you like most about exhibiting at smaller, regional audio shows such as CAS 2018?
Regional shows offer both exhibitors and visitors the chance to connect with each other and listen in a more relaxed and congenial atmosphere. Catching up with friends and customers (which are usually one and the same!) is always enjoyable and at smaller, more intimate shows like CAS, it’s always a more pleasurable experience.
In your product space, what are you most excited about in terms of technology and market trends?
Audio Note (UK) generally doesn’t follow any of what passes as ‘market trends’ in the audio industry. We follow our own path and what we find most exciting is the continuing discovery of new ways to produce even better performance with our chosen technologies. The most important thing for us is finding new ways to let listeners get even closer to the music they love, to let them hear and enjoy even more of what was recorded. Imagine if that became a ‘market trend’… wouldn’t it be wonderful?
Assuming you had the resources, what product would you like to create?
We are constantly pushing our designs forward, not just the circuit designs but also the construction and performance. The one resource we are most lacking is time, and sadly there doesn’t seem to be a way of making more of that… yet! Given the necessary time to do the job properly, we would like to produce a full recording, mastering and cutting studio. We have already made great strides with the first releases on our own ‘Audio Note Music’ label, and the eventual aim is to produce recordings that have been captured and cut using our technology and equipment, all the way through the recording chain. That would really be a ‘complete’ Audio Note (UK) listening experience!

I would like to experience an AN level 5 system both analog et digital. Unless I win the lottery a show is the only way this will happen. I’ve no doubt it would be an unforgettable experience.
