CAS Exhibitor Profile: Muraudio

By: |

Respondent: Rob Runolfson, Muraudio electrostatic loudspeakers, Room 5209.

What’s the “elevator pitch” description of your company?

Muraudio is a Canadian company that designs and manufactures point source electrostatic loudspeakers.

What makes your company and products special – how do they stand out from the pack?

Muraudio is the only company in the world with patented technology for continuous curve electrostatic loudspeakers.  Conventional ESL and box-type speakers make the accurate reproduction of a live performance a solitary experience, reserved for a single listener centered between the speakers in the one “Sweet Spot”. With Muraudio loudspeakers, every listener in the room, no matter where they sit or stand, will hear every last bit of recorded musical detail – reproduced with the kind of precision, micro-detail, and three-dimensional stereo imaging that only a point source electrostatic loudspeaker can deliver.

Which of your products do you plan to demonstrate at CAS 2018?

Muraudio’s recently launched SP1 will be demonstrated.  Based on the award-winning Domain Omni series loudspeakers and patented high output continuous curve electrostatic technology, the Muraudio SP1 incorporates many of the same components of Muraudio’s flagship PX series loudspeakers in a smaller, lighter, contemporary design with luxurious finishing.

Which sorts of CAS attendees should be interested to see and hear the products you will be demonstrating – and why?

Muraudio will demonstrate a system with an all-in price of under $20K USD that is sure to rival systems costing 10x as much.  Don’t miss hearing Muraudio’s award winning technology in the all new SP1!

What do you like most about exhibiting at smaller, regional audio shows such as CAS 2018?

We always appreciate the chance to meet people who are enthused about the music.  Music is about experience, and a smaller show is all about that.

In your product space, what are you most excited about in terms of technology and market trends?

For decades, electrostatic loudspeakers have been known to deliver pure, accurate sound.  The problem is, due to the directionality of flat and curvilinear panel designs they have always required very specific seating (a very small sweet spot) and more often than not, the electronics required to drive these loudspeakers have been cumbersome and necessary to handle the extremely low load presented (as low as 0.7 ohm for some ESLs!)  Muraudio’s loudspeakers not only offer all new point source imaging for everyone in the room, but the all new SP1 can be run off a standard amplifier with as little as 50 Watts.  This is something that has never before been possible in the ESL market.

Assuming you had the resources, what product would you like to create?

Muraudio has already developed the “cost no object” PX series loudspeakers, award winning omni-directional electrostatic loudspeakers that create sound unlike any other traditional loudspeaker on the market.  That said, what is currently in development will be kept under wraps and announced when ready for launch.
