What’s the “elevator pitch” description of your company?

Music reaches the very depth of our being with an inspiring, sensual influence on our awareness of life.  Every instrument Brodmann Acoustics produces is a direct reflection of our passion for music. As the designer, Hans Deutsch, says ” Speakers need to breathe like instruments to reproduce life-like sound.” Brodmann, with 275 years of building musical instruments, utilizes this extensive experience in the construction and finish of their speakers. Come to our demo room and rediscover the passion you have missed.

What makes your company and products special-how do they stand out from the pack?

Brodmann speakers are painstakingly built and tuned by ear, and built only by piano builders.  The woods used are hand picked, tap tested, and the final products are sent down the same finish line used in our pianos.  The design of the speakers are built on the principles of musical instruments, and thus are instruments themselves. The design is unique in that it uses resonance and soundboards to reproduce sound, and each speaker has tuning pegs for fine tuning as do musical instruments.  No other speaker made uses these techniques to reproduce music.  For many people these are the last speakers they buy.

Which of your products do you plan to demonstrate at CAS 2017?

Vienna Classic Model VC7

Static display:  Vienna Classic Model VC2, Festival Series  F2

Private sessions can be scheduled after show hours (7p-10p, Friday 7/28, Saturday 7/29).

What sorts of CAS attendees should be interested to see and hear the products you will be demonstrating-and why?

Brodmann invites all CAS attendees who love music and who appreciate the finer subtleties of beautifully reproduced music.  All are welcome to discover the natural and emotional sound of Brodmann.

Dave Marihart. of Marihart Audio, will be available to provide personalized service in the CAS area by appointment.

What do you like most about exhibiting at smaller, regional audio shows such as CAS 2017?

CAS provides a very relaxed and intimate setting to meet and serve music lovers on a personal basis that is not available in larger shows.  As a dealer, Marihart Audio will be able to serve the needs of music lovers in the Bay area.

In your product space, what are you most excited about in terms of technology and market trends?

Partnering with Margules Audio, whom Marihart Audio has always appreciated for the life-like, musical reproduction by their equipment.

Assuming you had the resources, what product would you like to create?

Brodmann Acoustics’ 275 year history spans building many of the finest pianos in the world for customers that range from Beethoven to many of the world’s finest pianists, and is used for sound reinforcement in some of the most famous and discriminating opera houses such as the Grand Festival in Salzburg.

Founder Hans Duetsch’s “Acoustic Active” patented technology employs “soundboards” where the majority of the amplitude below 130 Hz is produced outside the box resulting in incredibly linear and clean bass that doesn’t have the usual internal cabinet large cabinet resonances.  This lack of large internal cabinet resonance that traditional ported and acoustic suspension designs are affected by also allows Brodmann designs to use no internal dampening materials whatsoever resulting in much more natural midrange and upper bass response where none of the actual musical resonances are accidentally damped out by the other designs.

Brodmann Acoustics designs and manufactures their own drivers unlike almost all other speaker companies.  These are not knock-off’s from drivers made by other driver manufacturers.

Brodmann’s are known for their holographic imaging, much like Magnepans, planars, and electrostatics.  This is considered the holy grail of audiophiles where you actually get a 3-dimensional image of the performance between the speakers and as the volume goes up, the image stays centered and just grows in size and weight.
