New Album Releases Project 2020-8-23

By: |

The list is short this week but not for want of trying. Nothing struck a chord in the way of Re-Issues and Re-Masters so this week we shall only be having New Releases.

Thank t.he heavens for Bebel Gilberto’s Agora. I have been a huge fan ever since her debut and her Tanto Tempo is a must have album. I have a thing for Brazilian singers and their music. I’m gushing.

Famous Groupies’ Rehearsing the Multiverse definitely for all the fans of Paul McCartney’s early solo career. This is just too much and in a very good way/ It could have gone over the top but drew the line with a modicum of restraint.

I so missed having The Killers around and their new Imploding The Mirage brought me back to a happy place. It is as if they never left.

The Waterboys surprised me, as I was not familiar with them and Good Luck, Seeker reminded me most importantly why Dennis Hopper should be commemorated and never forgotten.

And then there’s the Lemon Twigs’ Songs for the General Public. Excuse me you two but I’m not sure those in the mainstream, the general public, are ready for your campy, glam, power-pop. It’s a fun listen although prolonged listening might precipitate untoward action for which one might be sorry in the morning.

Jaga Jazzist’s Pyramid was that one album of the week that I put on continuous loop for the better part of this past Thursday. It’s not something I can put my finger on, nor would I care to as that would detract from the sense of wonderment.
