New Album Releases Project 2020-5-16

By: |

Mid May and what has NARP learned?  Well, I can only surmise from the paucity of releases from one week to the next that the pandemic is indeed taking its toll. Now, let’s do bear in mind that a number of releases are being delayed/postponed. Still, I’ve managed to cull some music for everyone this week.

Quatour Ebene’s Beethoven Around The World: Beethoven’s Complete String Quartets the 20 years of the quartet. Long may they record, providing us with a minimum of at least 20 years more.

And it’s nice to hear from Alice Cooper once even if his Don’t Give Up is but a single.

Les9’s Adaptations is of special and personal interest to me because it includes the fine cellist Vincent Belanger whom a lot of us know from his playing and presentations on behalf of Audio Note. I interviewed Vincent some time back:

Paul Jarret’s Emma was new to me. And as a result, I’ll be digging around for more of his recordings.

And there’s a perennial favourite of mine, the violinist Nicola Benedetti and her recording of Elgar’s Violin Concerto. A fan of not only her musicianship but her giving back to and supporting of the music community.
