These are indeed times that can try our collective…, and with that, I am taking this special downtime to listen even more critically to the music I list, even if that means NOT agreeing with critics and public opinion.
Deep Purple threw me for a loop was not expecting anything from them, so very welcome.
The Chiaroscuro Quartet never fails to grab my attention so dig in with both … as you take in the Haydn String Quartets.
Joseph Fort and the Strand Ensemble introduced me to Holst’s The Cloud Messenger. I must say I have been remiss. Hopefully, Gustav will be kind and not too disappointed.
OZMA – French Explosive Jazz and yes they live up to the sobriquet. This is I believe their third full album. OZMA is like Jello-O you can never eat enough. That’s my way of saying I really LIKE OZMA.
Suzanne Vega’s An Evening of New York Songs and Stories came out of nowhere. I sure would like to find this “nowhere” and visit it far more often. I almost blotted her off my radar, and that would have been a shame.
