Burwell and Sons were showcasing a rather large horn loaded speakers of their own construction. Amplification was courtesy of the excellent Pass Labs XP-10 line stage and Pass Labs XA-30 class A monoblocks. The source was an Esoteric digital player. Cabling throughout was courtesy of JIB-Germany.

YG Acoustics was once again difficult to get into. As in previous shows, this year their room was standing room throughout the show. That said, I did manage a short sit down and I am glad I did. This room was sponsored primarily by Loggie Audio and featured products from its establishment such as the YG Acoustics Anat III Studio speakers, Ypsilon PST-100 MkII preamp, Ypsilon Aleius monoblocks, Esoteric P-02, Esoteric D-02 DAC, Bryston BPD-1 Music player, and cables were all Stage III throughout. Yes, a very pricey system that proved its muster in reproducing both large and small scale musical performances.

Well, that pretty much sums up the show for me. I’m not going to boldly give a Best of Show because quite frankly all of the rooms I visited suffered from their environments this year one way or another. However, what I can say is that I simply could not get enough of the WyWires/Zesto Audio/TAD Room. The sound was so wonderful and the music was so good, I just couldn’t stay away. The master tape demo at the Electrocompaniet Room was to me the performance of the show. The sound was phenomenal. The other two rooms that I enjoyed very much were the Tone of Music room and the Voce/JIB-Germany/Lindemann Room. Also, though I only returned 3 times, the deHavilland Room was also quite good. So there you have it. In no certain order my top choices. Go figure, it wasn’t so difficult to choose after all. Did you happen to notice that they all had analog sources? Maybe I am still more prejudiced that I am willing to admit!
